I drop in here often. Relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable. My server Scarlet mixed a great coctail and was charming and great fun. I had lots of fun as always and I recommend this pub to anyone. Top local pub, menu of pizzas that are fresh and crisp with great ingredients. Thumbs up all round.

Went here for the first time for a work bash. Was greeted by Ben, very helpful and welcoming who got our party set up. From then on I was really impressed with his equally friendly and helpful colleagues and the quality of Guinness (on point). Will return. Cheers.

I organised to have my birthday here through Ben, who was lovely! Really unique pub - love the decor and vibe. The staff are great and the prices are really reasonable. We all took advantage of the pizza and pint/wine deal for 14.

Peckham Rye 5.80 Cruzcampo The Red Bull is located opposite Manze’s Pie & Mash shop on busy Peckham High Street. The nearest station is Peckham Rye, it’s only a few minutes walk to get here. There has been a pub on this site since the 17th century, the building you see today was built in 1880. This pub closed in the late 1970’s and has had multiple uses including most recently a hair dressers. Thankfully the pub reopened in autumn 2019 and then became Barefoot Joe's Bar for a while, in April this year the pub reinstated its original name. This is a one bar pub with traditional furniture plus a few remnants from the previous bar incarnation. The servery is located on the back wall and has a solid wood counter. Around the walls are beautiful glazed Victorian tiles which are slightly hidden by the seating. The standout feature which was such a surprise to find was the stunning tiled mural of “The Trial of Queen Katherine'. For the warmer months, there are benches at the side of the pub. The beer lineup was all keg and featured a couple of craft beers. I decided on a pint of Cruzcampo, my pint hit the spot, price point was just below average. The food offering is Pizza, there are 9 to choose from, most cost around a tenner. There is a deal where you can get a Pizza and a Pint for 14. We arrived around 8pm on a warm Saturday evening in July. The atmosphere was chilled with a few locals in attendance. I got chatting to the Guv’nor and his good Lady who were telling me all about their vibrant locals boozer. They also showed me a book detailing the historical importance of the tiled mural. The pub hosts a variety of events and promotions, keep an eye on their socials for what’s on. Peckham has had a devastating loss of pubs over the last twenty years, so it was great to visit this pub that is back from the dead. This is a welcoming local with lovely people at the helm. The tiled mural was amazing, the beer and pizza are reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. ℹ Info correct on visiting 27.07.24

Such a nice pub! Don't let name mislead you; this is a very traditional British pub with cool modern accents. Comfortable and spacious with lots of wooden panneling and comfy upholstered seating. Proper beers and ales on tap. Delicious pizzas - I am very picky but these were top notch! Also, top barman there with little moustache and goatee is an absolute leg and can make some wicked cocktails - Lenn? Grenn?? Sorry if I misremember; very handsome 'sexy boi' according to my super gay best mate; they actually sang a duet together on the piano, at one point! It was beautiful. Everyone clapped. His fingers fluttered along the keyboard like Mozart! His beautiful long fingers... :P 'You GOT it!'

Best and easiest place to have a quiet beer outside in the area. Nice seating area out the front and along the side street. Haven't tried the pizzas yet but they look very good too!

Found this pub by chance and was pleasantly surprised as I've lived in the area for several years now and never set foot in the place, lovely atmosphere, good selection of Beers & Wines plus a great selection of pizza's all freshly cooked to order and they don't scrimp on the toppings either! Was served by a lovely chatty barmaid Scarlet who was very attentive & welcoming. I Highly recommend this bar & I'll certainly be visiting again very soon.
